“It's worthwhile”
At the Santiago Wild Film Festival
While Chris and I were still chugging through the Southern Ocean aboard the Allankay, a piece of wonderful news had come floating in: a film Chris had made the year before about Sea Shepherd’s Antarctica campaign had been selected for the Santiago Wild Film Festival. Once the initial euphoria – wide eyes, jumping up and down – slowly settled, Chris had noticed something: Latin America’s biggest environmental film festival would be taking place at exactly the same time we’d actually be in Santiago de Chile. The coincidence felt like a nudge from the universe – all the more so when Chris was invited to take part in a panel discussion on science and documentary filmmaking.
The warmth of the festival organizers was already a first hint of how welcoming everyone would be. Not just Chris, but Raimundo and I were also given what they called “Puma Passes” – giving us access to every single event at the festival. Pretty cool!
